In July, I attended the 5th International Young Scholars Workshop. The workshop was filled with fascinating research presentations, cultural exchanges and making new friends and colleagues. During a summer peppered with news of election shenanigans and global crises, I was encouraged and energized to hear from the Workshop participants about their work on addressing global disparities. Attending conferences and workshops are important for regaining my perspective on the importance of public policy research.

The purpose of the Memos to Leaders initiative is to inform newly elected leaders as they assume office at the beginning of 2017. If you would like more information about this initiative, you can read about it on ASPA's PA Times.
