Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is celebrated annually during the first week of May. It was organized in 1985 by the Public Employees Roundtable (PER) and its member organizations to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees.

The Public Service Stories Project highlights the nobility of public service through real-life stories captured on video. The project is the antithesis of the anti-government diatribe so prominently featured in the mass media.
