The Town of Dewey Beach, Delaware is currently seeking qualified applicants (or private firms) to perform the duties of the Part-Time Finance Director.  The primary responsibility of this position will be to oversee all finance-related activities within the Town, including but not limited to purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, property control, financial reporting, audit support and the development and implementation of finance policies and procedures. The Town of Dewey Beach, Delaware is currently seeking qualified applicants (or private firms) to perform the duties of the Part-Time Finance Director.  The primary responsibility of this position will be to oversee all finance-related activities within the Town, including but not limited to purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, property control, financial reporting, audit support and the development and implementation of finance policies and procedures. This position is recognized as a seasoned and fully proficient financial administrator, analyst, and accountant. The successful candidate will be a self-directed motivated professional able to execute the financial responsibilities of the Town in accordance with sound cash management and financial principles in addition to Town, State, Federal laws, internal auditing, GAAP, and GASB principles. This position has responsibility for ensuring the highest degree of accuracy and quality in financial documents.  Responsible for providing cash flow projections, debt management and reporting while managing the research, analysis, and data gathering for financial policy issues.  Oversees the preparation of policies summarizing findings and recommendations.  Responsible for cash transfers between bank accounts and establishing electronic payments.  Supervises the accounts payable and payroll personnel.  A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable field, and ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, including five (5) years of governmental accounting and supervisory responsibilities, are required.  CPA strongly preferred.  Graduate degree preferred.  GFOA credentialing desirable.  A successful background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening will be required.
